Leonie Bossert, Dipl. LaÖk

MitarbeiterIn – ESuRe BlogI studied Landscape Ecology and Nature Conservation at the Universities of Greifswald and Copenhagen with a focus on Environmental Ethics and joint the research group “Ethics of Science in the Research for Sustainable Development” in October 2013. As a scholarship holder of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung I am working on the question how the inclusion of nonhuman animals into the discourse of Sustainable Development can be substantiated from an ethical point of view. Therefore I am focusing on the investigation of the scope of justice-conceptions as well as concepts of The Good Life for all (at least sentient) beings. I am also dealing with the practical consequences of this inclusion and examining possible solutions in conflict cases.

During my job as a research assistant at the Philosophical Seminar of the University of Kiel, I worked on an anthology about Sustainable Lifestyles and thereby reflected intensively upon questions about Sustainable Development.

Beside Animal Ethics and Sustainability, my major research interests are Critical Animal Studies, Environmental Ethics, Feminism and Gender Studies.
